Dustless Sanding
Floor sanding has come a long way over the years. The process from start to finish was long and dirty. Experts in the industry developed tools and machines to minimize dust and air contaminants by attaching a vacuum system while sanding the hardwood. The dust containment is a much healthier option and attractive to customers especially who suffer from asthma and allergies since the particles make their way into central heating and air systems.
Not to be mistaken with “dust-free” this process lessens the amount of dust by about 99%. There will be light layers on surfaces upon completion but no need for a typical construction clean.
We are fortunate to be able to offer this service to our customers.
Real Hardwood & Engineered Refinishing Maintence
Hardwood flooring is one of the most beautiful aspects of a home. It glimmers in natural and artificial light and the wood grain renders your home completely unique. But when your hardwood flooring starts to look weathered in a less than attractive fashion, you might consider reviving your flooring. Hardwood Floor refinishing processes (Maintenance Coats or Deep Cleaning) are totally safe for the wood and can increase the longevity of the flooring.
Maintenance
When life gets messy, you need a floor that’s easy to clean….
Routine cleaning involves sweeping, dust mopping, or vacuuming using the bare floor setting to remove the dust and dirt. Clean spills immediately with dry cloth or slightly damp cloth. Don’t use wet mops or steam mops which will damage the finish and the wood over long periods of time.
It’s best to use a cleaner made specifically for the finish on the floor, which is something Nix Flooring & Design can provide.
Over time, when your wood floors start to look a little dull, they can be renewed through a deep cleaning and maintenance coat. To keep the wood floor looking and performing well for generations, follow our daily guidelines. Individual maintenance schedules will vary depending on use, wear and tear and lifestyle.
Follow This Simple Schedule
Daily: Sweep or Dust Mop
Weekly: Clean with a Neutral Clean (no residue)
Every 3-5 Years: Maintenance coat
(deep clean & new coat of finish)
Every Few Decades: Complete Dust Containment Sanding
(Bona Hepa filter)
